Working at Foulds

I have worked at Foulds since 1987, first as a part-time teacher, then class teacher, Senior Manager, Deputy and now as      Headteacher.  We have a strong and varied team here: some new staff working alongside others who have worked at Foulds for many, many years who have helped create the wonderful ethos where people feel supported to improve their practice.  We are proud of our record of developing staff and creating an environment where people can progress in their careers.    We have teachers who have taught here since the 1990s, have gone away to have children and come back to teach - some of them have even made sure that their children attended Foulds!  Many of our support staff have also been with us for decades, as parents and staff, developing their skills and sharing their expertise with new support staff and new teachers. We also love to welcome new staff who bring with them a breath of fresh air!  If you have a positive attitude to learning, enjoy new challenges and like working as part of a team, then Foulds could be the perfect school for you.
Helen Browett, Headteacher

What's it like working at Foulds?

"Foulds is a great school to work at and I am truly grateful for the time I spent at Foulds. Foulds is a school that deeply cares for its students and staff. The staff are kind and supportive. They provide you with opportunities to attend professional development courses to ensure you are the best teacher you can be. At Foulds the students are well behaved and have a strong desire to learn. They are very kind hearted and do their best to help both their peers and teachers. I am very grateful for my time spent at Foulds as it has fostered my love of teaching."
        Beth Adams, NQT

"As someone who has only recently arrived at Foulds from another Barnet school, I absolutely love it and wish I'd come here years ago! It's a lovely atmosphere, full of lovely staff and children who smile and enjoy school. I am fully supported by leadership and the governors and am amazed at how happy and contented I am at work. I am really excited to get to know the children better and work alongside everyone in my new role. I can't believe how many opportunities that I have been given in my short amount of time here, both through attending courses and my own career development opportunity moving from Phase Leader to Senior Leadership. I never thought, five months ago, that I would be an Acting Deputy Headteacher!  I feel fully appreciated and listened to. We really are a team at Foulds."
        Katherine Strong, Acting Deputy Headteacher

I feel empowered and supported at Foulds. I have opportunities here that I did not get at previous schools.
I love working at Foulds and value the support and encouragement given to me very highly. I feel that a tricky period for the school has been navigated by management with as much professionalism and care as possible and I do not underestimate the challenge that that has been for all.
I have loved working at Foulds! It has given me the confidence and skills to further my career to the next level. The children are an absolute delight, they behave well and are respectful to staff. The staff are very friendly and have really worked hard to ensure that the school has a community feel. The school has a fantastic head who always strives to ensure that the children have a love of learning, are challenged and work hard. All this and she still remains a warm and caring character... I would definitely choose Foulds a million times over!
I thoroughly enjoy working at Foulds and all of the staff have made me feel very welcome since I began. I feel well supported in my role and hope to be here for many years to come.
